They were fighting monsters somewhere nearby Idra Cave, soaked to the bone from the torrential downpour, and Dylas noticed that Frey was getting tired. It wasn’t until one stormy day when he found out the reason. If he was reading her correctly, it seemed like she was trying to get her mind off of something. She also spent more time out of town, fighting monsters or mining or whatever. She seemed oddly tired at times and her smile was forced, but every time Dylas tried to ask, she would wave it off, saying it was nothing. It was just a week after their wedding anniversary that Dylas noticed his wife was acting a bit strange. There was no small disappointment, but they took comfort in each other’s presence and just enjoyed their time together.īefore they knew it, it had been two years since they had gotten married. Yet, no matter how hard they tried, no matter how often they tried, she couldn’t seem to get pregnant. It took no small amount of courage to ask. She happily chirped out an “of course!” and Dylas felt himself relax considerably. The season after they married, Dylas had asked his wife if she wanted kids. And to them, it was a surprise that they hadn’t had any kids yet. At least their displays of affection were much more subtle than Jones and Nancy, and that was the only thing that comforted the other townsfolk. It also provided more opportunities for romance, though that’s a story for another time.įrey and Dylas were so blissful together, it almost gave the town toothaches just looking at them. They often traded getting first place in all the fishing contests in Selphia. Her fishing skill was okay when Dylas first arrived in Selphia, but since then, she had gotten so good that he could comfortably call her a rival. Most of the time they went fishing together. On days they didn’t work, they’d go on dates. Though he certainly had mellowed a lot since they married. Frey knew he was just embarrassed, so he hid it with gruffness. ![]() In fact, it almost sounded like a term of endearment. Frey would always reply that she spent a lot of time practicing just to woo him with food, just before giggling like a crazed schoolgirl.Ĭheeks flushing in embarrassment, Dylas would mutter something about her being an idiot. ![]() Dylas was still a bit disgruntled at how his wife was better than him. When they weren’t cuddling, they were cooking dinner together. Sometimes they’d kiss, but that would almost always lead to more. When work was done, they’d snuggle together – and Dylas was surprisingly a good cuddler, and, even more so, enjoyed it – and talk about everything and nothing all at once. ![]() Dylas would do things around their home before setting out for work at Porcoline’s restaurant. Frey would wake up first, fix breakfast, and they would enjoy each other’s company while they ate before Frey left to take care of her fields and monsters in the barns. They spent much more time together, outside of work hours. Frey and Dylas had been married for two years and life was blissful. ![]()
